We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Horsham. This is a full time position offers regular, rewarding work and the opportunity to make a significant impact in the educational journey of young learners.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
- Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
- Work with pupils one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
- Support children with additional needs, providing individualised assistance.
- Help with classroom organisation, displays, and tidying.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, or off-site activities.
- Provide pastoral support to pupils and help encourage positive social skills.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working in a school setting is essential.
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to adapt quickly within a busy, fast-paced primary environment.
- A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
