This role is at a UKAS-accredited scientific provider operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Cheshire. They give expert advice and analytical solutions to the NHS, private clinics, and pharmaceutical companies amongst others.
What you’ll do:
You will be a key member of the Toxicology division, working within a purpose-built environment designed to measure extremely low levels of analytes in biological matrices. Your role is critical to the final stages of the analytical process, ensuring that all data meets regulatory standards before it is reported to the client.
On a day-to-day basis the role will involve:
- Data Review: Processing and reviewing analytical data specifically from LC-MS/MS and GC-MS platforms.
- Quality Assurance: Performing checks on chromatograms, calibration curves, and QC samples.
- Compliance: Ensuring all activities align with ISO17025 and LAB51 standards.
- Audit Readiness: Maintaining meticulous traceability for all data processing steps to ensure compliance.
- Reporting: Producing and reviewing high-accuracy results reports for a range of healthcare and occupational clients.
The role is centred on high-level precision. You will be influential in providing the final oversight of data, ensuring it meets all acceptance criteria. This is a collaborative workplace where you will help design tailored reporting programmes to meet complex regulatory needs.
Your background:
We are seeking a dedicated scientist, ideally a BSc graduate in Toxicology, Chemistry, or a related discipline. You should have at least 2–3 years of experience in analytical toxicology and data processing. A deep familiarity with chromatography and Mass Spectrometry is essential for this role.
Specific knowledge of ISO17025 standards is required, and experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) would be an advantage. Given the nature of toxicology reporting, attention to detail and organisational skills are also high on the agenda.
